Mixed Pine Needles coiled around a Leather wrapped metal hoop "key ring" with gold webbing. I added a glass red Heart bead for decoration.
This Basket bottom measures 5.5" across with a coil wrapped in Red, Yellow and dark Blue Sinew.
After starting with the "single stitch", I switched to the "V stitch" right after the first tri-colored coil and continued in this pattern until beginning the side walls of the Basket.
The Basket measures 6.5" across at present....4/22/09
One coil is wrapped in Natural Sinew as the sides begin to slope outward and upward for the next 3 rows.
I finished this Basket with wrapped coils in the Blue and Yellow with a cross stitch in Red on the rim.
Three (3) White Feathers, one thin Brown Feather, glass Beads and a bit of White Leather finish out as the Trim.
GLASS BEADS...one flat White glass Bead is positioned on the rim showing Inside the Basket and 3 round glass Beads in Red, Blue and Yellow hang below the Outside rim.
FINAL measurements...8 Wide by 2" Tall .....Completed 10/02/09

This Basket can be used (with a paper liner) to hold dried Flowers, Popouri, fake Fruit, decorative marble Eggs, Shell collections, Thimbles, spools of Thread, and Odds & Ends.
