**Lazy Squaw Stitch...---"If the squaw felt inclined to slight her weaving, she would wrap the coil 3-4 times, before taking the much harder long stitch, which held the rows together. Hence the name Lazy Squaw....a harsh criticism from the other women of the tribe." From the book, Navajo School of Indian Basketry (1903).** Updated 7/26/11
