***This is the First basket I ever made. It is a "Loose Weave" design that catches the stitches between the coils rather than piercing the pine needles; this creates visible spaces between the coils. The artist Carl E. Lyons was described as using this method in his Basketry Art.
This is a very plain and simple basket. As I look back on it now, I can see how far I have traveled, since those first hesitant steps. PineWeaver, 7/17/07
